Where we are
The Genova - Figari Refuge is on the edge ofLake Brocan at an altitude of 2009 metres, in the Rovina valley, in the heart of Alpi Marittime Park. The path to the refuge start at Lago della Rovina, in the municipality of Entracque, Cuneo (Piedmont, Italy).
Access itinerary
To reach the refuge start from the car park at the pic-nic area at Lago della Rovina.
There are two possibilities; a short steep path or the old access road to the Chiotas dam, longer but less tiring. It takes from one and a half to two hours. If you choose the old road it is advisable to contact the hut manager for information on the conditions.
Luggage and people with disabilities may get transport to the refuge in a 4x4 vehicle (1 or 2 places): ask the manager for details.

How to get to Lago della Rovina
By car
If you are coming from the north on the A6 Torino-Savona motorway get off at Fossano, from here follow the SS 231 road to Cuneo, then the SS 20 to Borgo San Dalmazzo. Drive up the Gesso valley to Valdieri, after Valdieri at the roundabout turn left towards Entracque. After about 1 km turn right for San Giacomo and Lago della Rovina. From here on keep to the right at each fork, following signs for Lago della Rovina, where you will find ample parking (pay parking in summer).
If you are coming from the south on the A6 motorway, leave at Mondovì, from here follow signs for Borgo San Dalmazzo.
Coming from Nice or Ventimiglia you can use the Roia valley, and the Tenda tunnel, from which take the SS 20 to Borgo San Dalmazzo.
By public transport
By train with Trenitalia to Cuneo or Borgo San Dalmazzo, then by bus Autolinee Nuova Benese to Entracque, from here you have to follow on by taxi (Dario Audisio, mobile +39 335 6531024).
By plane
150 km from Entracque there is Turin international airport, 150 km away Nice international airport (France)), 170 km away Genoa airport and 50 km away Cuneo airport, which offers a limited number of flights.
